All I want for Christmas is 1000 miles
Well there was at least 4 inches of snow on the ground when I started running in Greenwood, Indiana on Friday afternoon. The sky was gray; the temperature was around 32 degrees though which isn't too bad. So on Friday after being in the car for 7 hours coming from Memphis Tennessee and spending some family time with the McCartys, I ran 3 miles which cut my final total in half. 6 miles left down to 3 miles left. Although I was still suffering some sinus issues the cold air definitely feels good. Don't get me wrong you don't want to stand next to me with I blow my rockets, but I can definitely breathe easier.
So then Santa came. Saturday December 25th, 2010. Mary Evelyn had a wonderful Christmas morning. She was so excited for Santa Claus to come. She opened her presents at Gajuice and Poppy's house and then we went to the Dafforn's house for breakfast. The weather outside was about the same as before. Gray and 32 degrees. There was a slight dusting overnight but the streets were relatively clear for running in the afternoon. So at 5:10 PM EST I started my final 3 miles. I ran through the Highland Park and Willow Lakes neighborhoods as I have done on many other visits to the grandparents house. At about 5:43 PM EST I completed my 1000 miles. Christi and Mary Ev made me a couple signs congratulatin me on my accomplishment. I gave my congratulatory speech using Mary Ev's new High School Musical microphone she got from Santa. I then hopped in the shower to warm up and go to the next Christmas dinner.

Sick with 7 days left
It's coming down to the final days. It appears as though my last run will take place back in Indiana where this whole thing started. I worry that maybe I have miscalculated some of my totals and maybe I should some extra miles just in case. I did come down with a stupid cold. This hasn't helped me at all.
